During this year’s CITY CYCLING in the Muehlenkreis district, our team MovingMINDA in Minden pedaled hard again for the seventh time. 44 active cyclists—more than ever before—from our Minden location covered a total of 9,845 km, just missing the magical 10,000-mark. 

With this result, our team placed 8th in the overall ranking for the city of Minden and 24th in the Minden-Luebbecke district. A respectable result! Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t always at its best this year during the campaign period from May 25 to June 14, but many participants took advantage of favorable weather conditions to rack up kilometers. Based on the kilometers cycled, mathematically 1,614 kg of CO₂ emissions could be avoided. That is also a great achievement we can be proud of. 

At almost the same time, from May 24 to June 13, the Team MovingMINDA SHG was also cycling hard. Twelve colleagues took part, covering 1,598 km. This secured them 11th place (out of 38) in the community of Stadthagen. 

Participating in the CITY CYCLING campaign not only contributes to climate protection but should also motivate colleagues to incorporate cycling into their daily lives. Those who choose riding a bike instead of driving a car—even for just a few kilometers—not only stay physically fit but also contribute to climate protection in the long term. 

As an additional incentive this year, three MINDA bags filled with useful goodies were raffled among the participants cycling more than 100 km (that applies to 30 MINDA employees). 

Thank you to everyone who participated—even if it was just a short ride—and who may have discovered cycling as an alternative means of transportation for everyday life.
